After more than a year without new episodes from the Fords, the siblings are back and ready to keep you entertained. Where Restored by the Fords focused on restoring historic homes, Home Again With the Fords will showcase designer Leanne and contractor Steve updating childhood homes while keeping the properties’ original charm in mind.

The episodes of Home Again With the Fords will be an hour long.
As you may remember, Restored by the Fords featured 30-minute episodes that focused primarily on the updates to the home. Knowing that viewers adore the Fords and their imaginative work together, Home Again With the Fords will feature hour-long episodes to dive deeper into the transformation process. That said, there are only seven episodes in the season.
“The new season is special to us for so many reasons,” Leanne said in an interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “We now have hour-long episodes, which lets us dive more into the client’s stories, which directly impact design decisions.”
Home Again With the Fords will go beyond design and look deeper into the Fords themselves.
In addition to having more time to look into the client’s stories, hour-long episodes also mean more time to focus on the Fords, their love of Pittsburgh, their individual processes and how they work together.
“We have been able to highlight different neighborhoods and talk more about our amazing hometown of Pittsburgh,” Leanne shared in the interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “I’m excited for viewers to get to know us, our family and our hometown more in this new format.”
Each episode will feature a different home design style.
It’s no secret that Leanne has a way with design. While she tends to lean toward her “modern yet lived-in” aesthetic, Home Again With the Fords will include more variety.
In an exclusive interview with PopCulture, Leanne said, “What I love is … what we create is all based on these beautiful homes. It’s all based on the clients that are living in the homes, so for our season, they’re all really different styles. As a designer, I get to do all these different styles and try all these different things, which has been really fun.”
Steve and Leanne will get to show the reality of home designs — “the chaos, confusion, and calamity.”
Another benefit of more time per episode? The extra minutes will allow a closer look at Leanne’s creative design process (which she now refers to as “Who Knows”). In an Instagram post revealing a peek at one of her projects on the upcoming show, Leanne shared, “… I changed vision and plans on this place AS I went … confusing myself multiple times. And for better or worse, the entire design process was filmed for my show @restoredbythefords (new title #HOMEAGAINwiththeFords!) on #HGTV. Where the chaos, confusion and calamity is all documented.”
Home Again With the Fords celebrates the concept of home.
One of the main reasons for the new show’s change of directions is the fact that now, more than ever, people are returning to their hometowns. While many people declare that they’ll never return after leaving their hometowns, when the unexpected hits—say, for example, a global pandemic—all of a sudden, the allure of home is undeniable.
“People all over the country are now returning to the places they grew up,” Leanne shared in a previous interview with HGTV. “And what a wonderful place to be. It truly is a privilege to help people come home again, and to create a space they love.”
The Fords’ relatable sibling quirkiness is back and better than ever.
The Fords made a name for themselves in Restored by the Fords. From 2016 to 2019—over the course of two seasons—the siblings let viewers in on their highly relatable relationship, quirks and all. With no new episodes since May 2019, it’s safe to say viewers are in for a treat when Philadelphia’s favorite siblings return to TV in Home Again With the Fords.
“I mean, I’ll say a line and Steve will finish the line from The Three Amigos or Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure,” Leanne told PopCulture. “I have to say it’s funny because I’ll find times that we’ll just be kind of simpatico naturally by being genetically connected, right? And then growing up at the same kitchen table. So, I like that I think it makes some things harder, [and] it makes it a lot easier.”
